Work on cross functional teams with PM, Controls, manufacturing, and technicians to support and troubleshoot new and existing Mechanical Designs
Prepare 3D CAD models, detailed drawings, mechanical BOMs, safety documentation and maintenance documentation
Prepare 3D animation or motion study for complex designs
Prepare FEA analysis on intricate designs – strong understanding of force/stress analysis
Support mechanical builds, proof of principle assemblies and production machinery
Contribute with design team to conceptualization new design concepts and innovate modifications to existing designs
Contribute to improvement of equipment effectiveness, manufacturing tolerance and stability and innovative automation
Provide mechanical engineering support to fabrication and assembly technicians and project management personnel

BS/MS Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent)
2+ years of experience as a hands-on mechanical/manufacturing/design engineer working on mechanical and/or electromechanical systems.
Must be proficient in 3D Modelling using SolidWorks
Experience with FEA is an asset
Experience with SolidWorks animation and motion study is an asset
Experience with AutoCAD an asset
Proficiency in designing mechanical equipment, fixtures and tooling in 2D and 3D CAD (SolidWorks preferred).
Proficiency creating detailed drawings from solid models for various fabrication techniques (CNC/manual machining, welding, sheet metal forming).
Proficiency in mechanical assembly (press fits, fastener selection).
Exposure to a wide variety of test and automation systems, production machinery, industrial sensors, data acquisition and I/O devices (e.g., pogo-pins, pressure transducers, temperature controllers, current and power meters, PLCs, etc).
Strong written, verbal, presentation and organizational skills as well as the ability to work and manage time independently.
Well organized with meticulous attention to detail
Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office products
