Position: Medical Laboratory Assistant
Department: Laboratory
Status: Permanent Part Time (Must provide availability of up to 0.5 FTE)
Hours: Monday to Sunday - Various rotating shifts (4 hour and 7.5 hour evenings, days and nights) (Hours subject to change based on operational requirements)
Site: Oakville (Milton & Georgetown as required)

This is what you'll be doing:
Responsible for all duties related to specimen collection and processing, data entry, referral specimens and office duties.

- Laboratory Assistant Certification required
- MLPAO / OSMT certification required
- 2 - 5 years recent experience in phlebotomy
- 2 - 5 years recent experience in a clinical laboratory setting
- Knowledge of laboratory computer systems
- Medical Terminology Certificate
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Experience working with the public
- Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English
- Must be able to meet the physical demands of the position
- Satisfactory employment and attendance record required
