Medical Health Records Clerk/Scanner Full-Time
Location: Riverside Court Medical Clinic – 3635 Rivergate Way, Ottawa, ON K1V2A4
Job description
Hours: Full-time 40 hours per week
Terms of employment: Monday to Friday
Security and safety: Criminal record check
Transportation/Travel Information: Own transportation, public transportation is available
Duties:
- Collect, sort and organize all health information records received.
- Records will include e-fax and paper documents that require scanning.
- Verify accuracy and completeness of patient information.
- Check for and eliminate duplication.
- Prepare and scan documents, ensuring double-sided pages are not missed.
- Verify clarity of reports and handwrite anything that is not legible.
- Ensure records are properly attached to patient charts in EMR.
- Strict confidentiality must be maintained in performing all assigned duties.
Business Equipment and Computer Applications: OSCAR EMR, MS Word, Electronic mail, MS Excel, MS Windows, Desktop Scanner

Requirements:
- High school diploma
- Previous experience working in a medical office or healthcare setting (preferred)
- Proficient spoken and written English
- Computer literacy
Working Conditions:
- Workweeks are 5 days, Monday to Friday, daytime hours
- 30 minutes paid lunch
- On-site initially with opportunity to work remotely occasionally once established
- Exposed to noise from clinic clientele and regular flow of people around the office
- Will spend long hours sitting and using computers and office equipment
- Our fast-paced work environment requires excellent organizational and time management skills to complete the required tasks
Wage: $18-20/hr.
