Mental Health Counsellor/Psychotherapist - Permanent 3/4 Days Per Week

The Niagara North Family Health Team is an integrated, collaborative family health team providing excellent care to patients in the Niagara region. Our focus is on health care, health promotion, disease prevention and chronic disease management.

We are looking for someone to fill a permanent part time position - with flexibility in hours from 24-32 hours per week.

Description:

The Niagara North Family Health team is looking for a creative, innovative and highly motivated Mental Health Counselor with experience in the delivery of Mental Health services to work in our collaborative care model. This individual will complement our team in the delivery of individualized group programs in the area of Mental Health.

Qualifications:

• Masters Degree in Social Work or a Masters level degree in the Social Sciences
• Registered with College of Social Workers or other relevant Registered College
• Counseling/therapy experience preferably in a community setting
• Experience in managing patients who have experienced complex trauma
• Training in EMDR an asset
• Proficiencies in assessment, psychotherapy, and psychological counselling techniques for working with individuals, couples and families over a wide range of ages
• Proficiencies in assessment, psychotherapy, and psychological counseling techniques for working with individuals, couples and families.
• Superior leadership, organization, research, evaluation, time management, communication and interpersonal skills
• Experience using cognitive behavioral therapy as well as mindfulness-based approaches including DBT, ACT.
• Experience using a trauma informed approach
• Strong knowledge of community resources in Mental Health
• Familiarity with Mac OS environment and prior experience and knowledge of the electronic health record an asset
• Teaching and experience facilitating groups an asset
• Comfort with the creation of presentations as well as their delivery using virtual platforms like Zoom.
• Ability to work independently and cooperatively in a busy multidisciplinary team

Salary: $35.00-$37.00 per hour
