STARTING RATE – $27.25 – 28.97/HOUR (NEGOTIABLE, BASED ON EXPERIENCE)
FULL-TIME CONTRACT (6 months)

What is the job?
The Mental Health Worker works directly with assigned members of the New Foundations Program, using psychosocial based recovery tools and led by the member themselves. The Mental Health Worker reports directly to, and will be supervised by, the Manager of New Foundations Services. The Mental Health Worker must be available to work in all units of the program, as assigned by the Manager of New Foundations.
What will you do day to day?
1. Planning and partaking in the assigned unit activities.
2. Assisting in planning programs and activities that are consistent with individual members.
3. Ensuring member empowerment and the recovery philosophy.
4. Supporting members in our social rehabilitation, employment, food services and housing programs.
5. Work closely with community partners to ensure all areas of recovery are being met.
6. Completes other duties as assigned by Manager.
What do you bring to the job?
· A Degree or Diploma in the Social Sciences, or a Social Service Program.
· A minimum of 2 years of experience working in the Mental Health field.
· Strong background working with individuals with mental illness.
· Good knowledge of community health and other health related social service resources.
· Must possess skills in crisis assessments, and intervention strategies and /or possess ASIST.
· Ability to speak French considered an asset.
· You are required to hold a valid driver’s license, provide verification of two million liability coverage on your vehicle, and are expected to transport clients, as required by your manager.
· Current Police Clearance Certificate is required.
