The Broadway Subway Project Corporation (BSPC) is an Acciona-Ghella general partnership to deliver a 5.7 km extension of the Millennium Line, from VCC-Clark Station to Broadway and Arbutus. Once complete, it will provide fast, frequent and convenient service to B.C.’s second largest jobs center, world-class health services, an emerging innovation and research hub, and growing residential communities.
Reporting to the MEP Manager, the MEP Superintendent is responsible for supporting and coordinate BSCGP MEP Construction activities. This role will include coordination with and between subcontractors for construction process, deliverables, products, material, clashes The candidate will work with suppliers, subcontractors, civil construction department facilitating conflict and issue resolution.
Responsibilities:
- Act as point of contact for the MEP material deliveries.
- Monitor and coordinate MEP works between subcontractors.
- Coordinate possible interferences, clashes and difficulties between subcontractors.
- Attend the daily coordination meetings to update and discuss the following activities.
- Control the performance of the MEP activities and report any deviation.
- Work with MEP coordinators in order to prepare all the tasks for subcontractors.
- Collaborate with the vendors, suppliers and third parties for shop drawing, verification and validation record review, comment and submission.
- Coordinate with vendors and subcontractor for integration, testing and commissioning activity and notification.
- Provide technical solutions to improve the performance of the activities.
- Coordinate between Stations and Tunnel works the interface between them
- Maintain and keep up to date the documents for records
- Perform other duties as assigned or assumed on the personal initiative with approval from the manager.
Experience/Qualifications:
- Education in Electrical Engineering or work experience related.
- Ability to read and understanding technical reports, specification and design drawing and documents.
- Demonstrated experience coordinating different teams and specialties.
- 10 years’ experience in a construction environment will be an asset.
- Experience working with Microsoft office package.
- Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
- Well organized, self-starter.
- Electrical , Mechanical and Firefighting experience
- Tunnel ventilation System experience is a plus.
- Able to manage priorities to ensure operation deliverables are accurate, consistent, current and timely.
- Muti-tasking ability is expected
