Nanny/Housekeeper

$25/hr, live-out Nanny/Housekeeper/Household Manager with hours generally Monday-Friday 7-6:00, and every second Friday off

We are a professional couple in the northwest of Calgary, with three wonderful daughters, ages 6, 9, and 14.

This is a hybrid role – nanny, to the extent needed (given the ages of the kids, they are all fairly independent); housekeeper; and to some extent, household manager. We are primarily looking for someone who can help make our lives easier. We are both very busy, and we need someone who can help by taking tasks off of our plate where possible, and enabling us to spend more quality time with each other and with the kids. The priorities would be in the following order:

1. The kids - watching them while they are at home, playing with them, trying to keep them active/working on homework/off screens, etc. We would fully empower you to set boundaries, but they are pretty good kids so this is not much of a concern. You would also take them to/pick them up from school/events/activities, etc. You would sometimes be picking up their friends from an event or school if they are coming for a playdate (luckily the friends are all great and respectful too!). When you arrive at 7am, you will be ensuring that the 6 and 9 year old are getting ready for school, eating breakfast, etc., They are pretty independent so do a lot of this on their own, but facilitating a healthy breakfast, helping brush and put their hair in ponytail/pigtails.etc, and packing lunches are the main things before they go to school. When you bring them home, you will be providing a healthy snack and sometimes preparing a simple dinner for them closer to 5pm.

2. Household - The kids are all in school (youngest is in grade 1), so Monday-Thursday, you will have 6 hours with no kids in the house with the exception of professional development days or if someone is home sick. During this time, we need someone who is going to do the standard cleaning stuff like dishwasher/vacuuming/cleaning surfaces/laundry/etc.; Food prep - dinner prep to some extent, prepping vegetables and fruits for general consumption, etc. We would ideally have you do minor grocery shopping (ie. making sure we have milk and bread, etc), as well as any other minor errands that we need done. You could arrange for and supervise repair people, receive packages, maybe arrange playdates for the kids, book doctor's and dentist's appointments, etc. We haven't really had someone in this role before, but these are the kinds of things that the right person would take on.

Salary: $25.00 per hour
