We are seeking a compassionate and responsible part-time Nanny/Housekeeper to join our family part-time. Our household consists of a busy single mother who runs her own business, and two children ages 6 (almost 7!) and 10, and one small friendly dog. We require someone patient and compassionate who is excellent at time management, sticking to routines, and providing consistency for our family. This role is primarily as additional support to the mother and family, rathe than being the main caregiver to the children and having parents abesent. The youngest child has mental health issues, which requires a patient, consistent person who can also attend scheduled times at school or do activities outside of the home involving therapeutic interventions/activities to overcome/treat a specific anxiety disorder. In addition to childcare, the ideal candidate will also be responsible for light housekeeping duties, preparing dinner for the family, laundry, assisting with evening routines and bedtime routines, maintaining household supplies (ordering groceries etc.), transporting the children to/from daycare, and attending family events as needed for additioanl support such as weekly dinners out, swimming, etc. The successful candidate will create a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment for our children, ensuring their well-being and fostering their development. Much of the child care time will be while we are all home together in the evenings, and so will be in assisting the mother in handling parenting responsibilities such as getting ready and to bed, making lunches for school, etc. Additional responsibilities will include running errands such as picking up dry cleaning, prescriptions etc. as needed
Schedule:
We are looking for consistent support Wed-Fri after school (4-9PM) and Thurs-Friday morning (6:30-9:30 am), with possibility for every second weekend as needed. I prefer to have one person working this role, but am open to having two people share this role with one person for mornings and another for evenings. We are hoping to find someone long-term for this position.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience caring for children of
- Ability to cook and prepare meals for children
- Strong caregiving skills, including patience, compassion, and attentiveness
- Knowledge of child development stages and appropriate activities for each age group
- Ability to maintain a clean and organized environment
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to educate and engage children in learning activities
Required:
-First Aid/CPR certification
-At least two years nannying experience
-Experience with special needs children is an asset
-Having a drivers licence and vehicle, and willingess to drive/transport is required (compensation for mileage will be provided)
