Job Title: Network Administrator

Comu Networks is a full-service systems integration firm. We specialize in data networks and applications for commercial buildings, condominiums, construction sites for medium and large enterprise environments. We design, install, support and maintain wired and Wi-Fi networks delivering high-speed internet access (HSIA), video delivery systems, smart home and security systems, and other IP enabled applications. We also remotely monitor and support the equipment we install.
Scope of Work:
We have an immediate need for a full-time Network Administrator located in Hamilton, Ontario.
Responsibilities:
- Primary Duties and Responsibilities
- Install, configure, and maintain desktop and laptop PCs, tablets, printers, computer peripheral, devices, and telecommunication devices.
- Install, configure, and maintain software applications on user computers and maintain an inventory of installed software and hardware and manage licensing.
- Provide internal IT support (server security, software updates, hardware maintenance etc.)
- Provides Help/Service Desk support and coordinates with 3rd party providers.
- Performs desktop installations, configurations, and troubleshooting.
- Monitors, maintains, and troubleshoots network infrastructure, applications, and security.

- Repair and restoration of equipment and services.
- Maintain inventory of assigned equipment and tools.
- Computer skills in MS-Office, VISIO, AutoCAD, Outlook, text editors, and others.
- Administration of Unix/Linux/Windows servers with a primary focus on enterprise services including DHCP, NTP, RADIUS, TACACS, DNS, and Network Monitoring
- Install and proactively monitor battery backup systems (iUPS) to ensure continuous and reliable network operations.
- Familiarity with usage of a troubleshooting ticket system
- Document network changes and design improvements to reinforce solid troubleshooting techniques
Requirements & Experience
- CCNA or Equivalent
- College diploma or University degree in Networking, or related field is preferred.
- Very good understanding of TCP/IP networking and VOIP.
- Sound IP and network architecture knowledge, including setup, troubleshooting, and maintenance is a definite asset.
- Knowledge in virtualization software such as VMware ESXi
- Managing and administering Active Directory (AD), group policy updates, AD site configuration and major version upgrades.
- Managing end user accounts, permissions, access rights, and storage allocations in accordance with best-practices and information security guidelines.
- Valid Full Driver’s License
- Ability to work shifts
