As a well-established restaurant chain with upcoming franchise growth at a national level, we are seeking a Manager of Financial Reporting to ensure accurate and timely Financial Reporting. This position involves overseeing the preparation of Financial statements, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to support the company's overall financial objectives. This is an excellent opportunity to work with a dynamic and growing company that is positioned in restaurant operations, franchising, real estate, and wholesale operations.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Reporting

· Responsible for the preparation and analysis of weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reporting

· Calculate variances from the budget and prior year and report significant issues to management

· Assist with accounting and reporting for new production facility being built in Q1 2024

· Work closely with other departments including Operations and HR to gather necessary information and ensure accurate Financial Reporting

· Collaborate with internal stakeholders to analyze financial data and provide insights to support strategic decision-making

Accounting

· Responsible for review and oversight of full cycle accounting for the group of companies

· Responsible for month end processes and reporting to various stakeholders including ad hoc reporting

· Responsible for oversight of franchise monthly reports; gift card sales; monthly royalty and marketing payments

· Development and implementation standardized procedures for intercompany transactions to streamline processes

· Tracking of lease details and payments

· Assistance with cash flow management

Leadership

· Manage and mentor accounting team members

· Responsible for oversight of Accounts Payable including review of payment runs and vendor reconciliations

· Responsible for coordination with external auditors

System and Processes

· Identify opportunities for process improvements in Financial Reporting and implement changes to enhance automation, efficiency and accuracy

· Develop and maintain strong internal controls over Financial Reporting to ensure the integrity of Financial information as well as segregation of duties

· Assistance with assessment of systems and integrations

· Contribute to special projects and initiatives

Qualifications and Experience:

· 3-4+ years related experience in Financial Reporting, with a post-secondary education in Accounting or Finance and/or equivalent combination of education and experience (CPA, CA, CMA, CGA designation considered an asset but not required)

· Proficient in Sage or another accounting software and Excel considered a strong asset

· Strong leadership skills

· Friendly and energetic team player with a positive attitude

· Strong communication skills – verbal and written

· Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and quality

· Strong time-management and problem-solving skills

Salary: $70,000.00-$95,000.00 per year
