POSITION DESCRIPTION:
The auxiliary nursing team administers the medication and ensures that residents' files are updated in the computer tool. They respond to emergencies and work closely with the care team and other departments (kitchen, dining room, maintenance, reception, etc.)
Permanent part-time position (between 15 and 20 hours per week), evenings, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. and weekends from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
ROLE AND GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Administer medication according to safety principles and the code of ethics
- Collaborate in maintaining the bond of trust with the families or loved ones of the residents as well as with the various stakeholders (CLSC, CSSS, etc.)
- Ensure good communication as well as medical follow-ups with the actors concerned
- Ensure the follow-up of the medical file as well as the prescriptions at the request of the doctor or pharmacist
- Follow up on residents' medical files and prescriptions at the request of the doctor, pharmacist or CISSS
- Notify the nurse and/or the person in charge of health services of any changes observed in the state of health of the residents
- Record notes in residents' files in accordance with the requirements of the Order of Nurses and Auxiliary Nurses of Quebec (OIIAQ) and keep them rigorously up to date
- Collect degree in nursing (DEC) or a proffesional studies dimploma (DEP) in health care assistance, nursing
- Member of the OIIAQ
- Up to date CPR / AED training certificates
- High availability, evenings and weekends
- A minimum of 2 to 3 years experience
- Discretion and respect for confidentiality
- Basic computer skills
- Knowledge of retirement homes, a major asset
