Job Description: The role of the PUBLIC HEALTH NURSE is to promote, protect and preserve the health of populations. The services may be directed to individuals, families, groups or communities across the life span in a continuous rather than episodic process. Public HEALTH NURSEs apply appropriate strategies to prevent injuries, chronic and communicable disease; address environmental issues; support reproductive/sexual health and promote the health of postpartum women, infants and families.

Required Qualifications
Bachelor Degree in Nursing
Registered or eligible for registration with the College of Registered Nurses of Saskatchewan (CRNS)
Valid Class 5 driver's license
Experience
One year's PUBLIC HEALTH nursing experience is preferred
Specifically, the Regional Public Health Nurse (PHN) provides services within the communities of Creighton, Denare Beach and Pinehouse Lake, and Sandy Bay. Required to travel to the communities of Pinehouse Lake, Sandy Bay, Creighton and Weyakwin to support the maintenance of the legislated immunization programs with Public Health and Primary Care Nurses.
The Saskatchewan Health Authority (SHA) requires a criminal record check (CRC) from every potential SHA team member. The CRC must be dated within the past six (6) months and be satisfactory to the SHA.
