Job Purpose
The Accounting Clerk / Office Administrator performs accounts payable and accounts receivable duties along with various administrative tasks
Responsibilities
- Monitor cash and credit card clearing accounts
- Distribute all invoices received to respective associates for authorization
- Maintain regular supplier files and assign new vendor accounts
- Monitor and manage payables and receivables
- Assist with the preparation of reports with accuracy on time; spreadsheet proficient
- Perform various reconciliations including: bank statements, accounts receivable, and accounts payable
- Prepare the accounts payable cheques and follow up on all outstanding amounts
- Maintain a petty cash system
- Assist with preparation of year ends
- Maintain a high level of confidentiality in all interactions
- Courteously receive and screen in bound calls, emails and relay messages to staff
- Provide administrative support to the project managers
- Support client communication such as scheduling appointments, typing, editing, proposal writing, filing, photocopying, the scanning and posting of documents and memos
- Post, clear and file invoices in the accounting system
- Perform other tasks based on management requirements and instructions
Qualifications
- Post-Secondary education
- A minimum of at least one years' experience in an administrative assistant role
- Comprehensive and expert knowledge of Microsoft 365
- Strong attention to detail is critical
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, organizational and time management skills
- Strong problem solving and critical thinking skills
- Familiar with Sage Accounting and QuickBooks is an asset
- Experience within accounting is an asset
- Ability to adapt to a changing environment and meet deadlines

Expected hours
Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursdays 8-4:30
Fridays 8-3:30
Must be flexible to cover staff vacation (potential to work Mondays when required)
Job Type: Part-time
Salary: $22.00-$25.00 per hour
Expected hours: 33 per week
Schedule:
