Tamarack Valley Energy is looking for a Contract Field Lead Operator for their Marten Hills district.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Ensure the issuance of appropriate documentation for maintenance work; requests, permits, isolations, etc.
- Coordinate designated Operations team activities and verify that work is completed to required standards.
- Ensure emergency preparation; follow operating manuals and/or instructions, identify and report possible irregularities and define corrective actions.
- Promote a positive safety culture and coordinate supporting activities; safety drills, investigations, meetings, lesson learned, etc.
- Ensure complete compliance to all HSE (Health, Safety & Environment) regulations; participate and lead in safety meetings, contractor orientations, safe work permits…etc.
- Ensure team is fully familiar with all aspects of the operations and operating procedures; all staff possess necessary journeyman tickets and CMDS requirements for Operator position.
- Coordinate maintenance activities in critical areas; confined spaces, moving/loading equipment.
- Ensure all operations activities are in compliance with corporate, provincial and federal regulations (AER/OHS/ABSA).
- Compile & complete the relevant reports of activities and ensure accurate as well as on time, shift logbooks, progress, readings, etc.
- Provide support for Operator skill enhancement, performance reviews and qualification of operators; use knowledge and troubleshooting skills to assist production team.
- Participate and comply with TVE QMS program and the owner-user's policies to ensure AB-512 compliance – ensure an effective PEIMS including RIK and MOC training is followed by all field staff.
- Ensure allocated work is supported with the appropriate work and safety instructions; ensure that all instructions are adhered to in the completion of the tasks.
- Maximize production/facility uptime and optimize production in all designated areas.
- Provide all necessary training to operators; provide opportunity for junior operators to advance.
- Support and provide leadership to all staff within designated area; assist with relevant areas as required.
- Attend and participate in all relevant Company meetings; provide updates as required.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- 10+ years' work experience (preference given to familiarity or experience in the Oil and Gas Industry) with a minimum of 5+ years in field operations role.
- Driven to operational excellence while maintaining the highest safety standards and culture.
- Excellent knowledge base of Ground Disturbance, OH&S legislation and regulations, AER regulations and industry recommended practices.
- Demonstrated ability to deliver practical solutions in a fast paced and evolving work environment.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal).
- Valid Class 5 driver’s license.
- This is a camp position but may also reside in Slave Lake/Calling Lake.
Schedule:
- 80 hours per 2-week shift (8-6 shift -10-hour days).
- Schedule to be provided and approved by Production Foreman.
- Additional time away may be approved by the Production Foreman.
Reporting:
Submission of weekly report that includes:
- General activity
- Summary of serious contraventions and/or safety concerns
- Updated tracking spreadsheet
Also, participation in reporting of near miss, hazard ID and incidents in REMEDY, as per the company’s Safety Management System.
