For over 80 years and four generations, our family has been inspired by forests and the endless possibilities for designing and building with wood. We began as a horse-logging operation in 1939 and have grown to become an industry-leading mass timber provider with a high-tech sawmill. From seedlings to solutions, we see our products through the entire process -- from forest management to manufacturing, design, prefabrication, and delivery.

Operations Role and Objectives:

We are seeking Operations employees to join our team at Kalesnikoff. We are looking for candidates who are interested in a growth opportunity in a production environment, acquiring training in various job centers throughout our two facilities between Castlegar and Nelson, BC to provide support where needed.

Hours of Work:

Weekday Monday to Thursday rotating 10-hour shifts : 5:30 AM to 4:00 PM (Dayshift) and 4:00 PM to 2:30 AM (Afternoon shift) Rotates every 2 weeks

Requirements:

• High school diploma or General Equivalent Diploma (GED).
• One year’s experience working with machinery in a manufacturing setting is considered an asset.
• A commitment to safety in the workplace.
• Flexible approach to work tasks with a willingness to support other departments as required.
• Strong interpersonal, organizational and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and cooperatively within a team.
• Must have a reliable method of transportation.
• Must demonstrate an ability to learn quickly and apply learning in day-to-day processes.
• Experience in lumber manufacturing or heavy industrial environment would be an asset.

Physical demands and working conditions:

• You can lift/carry 20-40 lbs. repetitively for up to 8 – 12 hours a day.
• You can lift/carry up to 50 lbs.
• You are comfortable working in a multi-temperature environment.
