Prairie Eye Care is a family owned business that has delivered eye care for over ten years. With multiple locations in Winnipeg and Edmonton; we are always looking to grow and expand our team!

We are currently in search of an Optometric Assistant to join our team in Winnipeg! Our primary need will be at our 15-1795 Henderson Hwy location. (Candidate must be available to work shifts at any of our four Winnipeg locations when necessary.)

In this role, the right candidate will be bring a positive energy to the clinic, welcoming patients of all ages with varying medical and visual conditions. This role involves answering phones, booking appointments, running insurance and interacting with team members, doctors and communicating with other health care clinics.

Prairie Eye Care welcomes the opportunity to train and educate an interested applicant who is new to the optical world and we encourage experienced Optometric Assistants and Eyewear Consultants to apply.

Experience in any health care services / chiropractic / physio / dental / optometry, is considered an asset to our dynamic team.

As a team member of Prairie Eye Care you will:

  • Welcome/ Greet Patients

  • Create invoices
  • Submit / receive insurance payments
  • Book Appointments
  • Answer phones
  • Pretest patients before seeing the doctor
  • Case history and run other ophthalmic testing equipment
  • Other duties as assigned

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Expected hours: 30 – 40 per week

Schedule:

  • 8 hour shift
  • Day shift
  • Evening shift
  • Monday to Friday
  • Weekends as needed

Supplemental pay types:

  • Bonus pay
  • Overtime pay

Work Location: In person
