We are looking for outgoing, excited and enthusiastic people to join our Programming team this summer!
Outreach Science Educators are directly responsible for the delivery of programs conducted throughout Saskatchewan including school workshops, stage shows, special events, exhibit floor interpretation, and summer programming. The Outreach Science Educator position will have a primary focus on external and outreach programs offered by the SSC, but may include at the Saskatchewan Science Centre as well.
Note: This position is pending funding from grants. Conditions of this grant require candidates to meet the following criteria to qualify. Must currently be a full-time student and be planning to return to school in the fall semester as a full-time student. Applicants must be Canadian citizens/permanent residents between 16 and 30 years old.
Specific Responsibilities
- Delivery of Outreach Programs including school workshops, community events, day camps, and in-house programs
- Customer service and promotion
- Program development and improvement
- Other Duties
Qualifications:
Experience delivering STEM programming
Experience teaching or instructing a variety of age levels
Flexibility and openness to a constantly changing environment
Willingness to travel
Valid Class 5 drivers license
Criminal Record Check w/ Vulnerable Sector Check
Working Conditions
This is a temporary full-time position and falls under the salary grid 2.5.
This position is required to travel. Weekday availability will be required, with some evening and weekend availability being required.
The Saskatchewan Science Centre will provide meal per diems, a vehicle, and will also cover accommodations.
