Science Educators are directly responsible for the delivery of programs conducted throughout Saskatchewan including school workshops, stage shows, special events, exhibit floor interpretation, and summer programming. This role will involve program delivery, development, as well as reporting and administrative duties.
This Science Educator position will have a primary focus on internal programs offered by the SSC, but may include program delivery in rural or remote communities. There may be some programs that require overnight stays.
Specific Responsibilities
- Delivery of SSC Programs including school workshops, community events, day camps, and in-house programs
- Customer service and promotion
- Program development and improvement
- Other Duties
Qualifications:
Experience delivering STEM programming
Experience teaching or instructing a variety of age levels
Flexibility and openness to a constantly changing environment
Willingness to travel
Valid Class 5 drivers license
Criminal Record Check w/ Vulnerable Sector Check
Working Conditions
This is a temporary full-time position and falls under the salary grid 2.5.
This position is required to travel. Weekday availability will be required, with some evening and weekend availability being required.
The Saskatchewan Science Centre will provide meal per diems, a vehicle, and will also cover accommodations.
