The GO Expansion scope : new electric locomotives, fleet upgrades, train control systems, network electrification, signalling, telecommunications and digital systems, maintenance, and much more.
Objective
Alstom is seeking a Overhead Catenary System (OCS) Construction Engineer for Corridors. This individual will support all QCD aspects of all OCS Site works for Corridors, from preparation until completion and handover.
Responsibilities
- Support all type of OCS works preparationalong Metrolinx corridors, from preparation until completion and handover,
- Support definition of Work packages related to OCS works along the corridors, including RFQ preparation
- Responsible and accountable in Alstom EHS rules (AZDP) compliance, strictly implementing Alstom policies and creating a 0 accident and 0 deviations culture
- Supportplanning set-up and on time execution until hand-over,
- Support Yellow plants definition and related discussions with suppliers,
- Support definition of all internal and external Logistics interfaces,
- Lead some parts of aspects of the methodology and constructability definition, from preparation until validation,
- Lead planning progress follow-up during Development phase,
- Support Quality management in coordination with QA/QC team (Audits, site modifications, NCR, REX…etc)
- Construction interfaces with other subsystems (POS team, Trackworks team, signalling team, O&M team, CW team…etc)
- Support the definition of Installation strategy for the OCS construction activities and Yellow plants needs
- Constructability reviews with OCS teams
- Methodologies development considering all Safety, Track Access and operation aspects
- On Time Delivery (OTD) of all OCS works
- Preparation of related Gate Reviews,
- Preparation of OCS works for Corridors, including all logistics aspects,
- Collect the REX (Return of Experience) coming from the Regional Centers
Reporting
This position will report to the Head of OCS Construction.
The candidate will liaise with:
- Engineering: On-shore, off-shore Engineering team and Transverse Engineering team,
- Construction : POS and OCS Construction teams,
- Project: Electrification and System management team,
- Customer, Consultants, Supplier and potential subcontractors,
- Civil Works, Track works and O&M partners,
- Interfacing sub-systems (Rolling Stock, Trackworks, Signalling, Civil works),
- Regional Centers.

- Compliance to Site works Work Package: 100%
- Respect of Design For Quality (DFQ) milestones: 100% Go On Time, in accordance with the standards or rules of his Metier
- Respect of performances of the system provided: 100%
Educational Requirements
Mandatory:
- Bachelor's Degree of Science in Engineering, Civil Works or scientific subjects
- Professional Engineer or EIT designation as per Canadian regulations or in progress
Desirable:
- Master's Degree in Project Management
- Master's Degree in Engineering
Experience
- Minimum of 2-3 years of progressive experience in the construction industry, preferred in the railway or linear project implementation,
- Strong knowledge of Ontario Safety regulations,
- Strong knowledge of Canada standards and common practices,
- Fluent in English, second language appreciated
