As an Overnight Baker, you will be responsible for a majority of artisan boulangerie production in which everything is made from scratch daily - no mixes or frozen products. We do not bake cakes, we do not bake cookies, ONLY boulangerie/bread products. If you do not have a wealth of experience and knowledge in this area DO NOT apply. Advanced culinary knowledge, workplace efficiency, comfort with multitasking, time management and exercising numerous detail oriented processes at one time are all skills necessary to attain this role. Our food safety & quality are both held to high standards within our walls as the position has a hourly rate of pay which is reflective of that (reaching a maximum of $50.00(CAD) per hour for this position) with additional quarterly bonuses & bi-weekly tip out. This is not an entry level position. This position is for individuals in the culinary arts with advanced levels of experience ONLY. Accredited references are required. You may be asked to submit to a background check. You must be able to legally work in Canada prior to application. This role is a full-time position with a start date at the beginning of April 2024.
Intermediate level experience in the production of:
- Baguettes
- Artisan Sourdough & Ancient Grain
- Sweet Bread Varieties such as Brioche
- Rolls & Basic Bread Loaves
- Bagels
-Doughnuts (Donuts)
- Knowledge of how to prepare frostings, pastry creams, fillings, sauces & glazes - from scratch using organic ingredients.
You will be required to demonstrate your skill level in practice & application prior to your being hired for this position.
You will be required to bring your own tools for the tasks you will be performing.
You will be required to provide your own workplace appropriate attire and will not be provided with company clothing or footwear prior to a 1 month probationary period.
