Opaskwayak Health Authority [OHA} and the Northern Regional Health Authority [NRHA] are seeking
a qualified individual to fill the role of Palliative Care Model Project Manageron a contractual basis
until the expected project end date of March 31, 2027.
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Project Manager to lead the development and
implementation of a Palliative Care Model within our organizations. The ideal candidate will require a
strong background in healthcare project management, with a specific focus on Palliative Care
initiatives. The Project Manager will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the project, from
planning and execution to monitoring and evaluation, ensuring the successful implementation of the
Palliative Care Model in the project delivery plan.
Specific Accountabilities:

✓ Develop the Palliative Paramedic Project in the region of The Pas, Opaskwayak Cree Nation,

and Flin Flon as per the Palliative Care Project Delivery Plan as follows:

• Performance measurement and evaluation

• Sustainability plan

• Disseminate/implement the Palliative Paramedic Project in the northern region

• Develop the training plan and platform for unregulated health care providers

• Deliver/distribute training for unregulated health care providers

• Cultural context of support

• Community education and engagement

• Utilize technology to facilitate and enhance project development and delivery

• Complete reports and financial statements as required

✓ Focus on Model of Care outcomes with desired learning and measurement approaches.

✓ Collaborate with the NRHA, Shared Health, and Opaskwayak Health Authority project team.

Candidate Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration, project management or a related field

(required)

• Master’s degree in healthcare administration, project management or a related field

(preferred)

• Strong understanding of Palliative Care principles and best practices (preferred)

• Proficiency in project management tools and software (required)

• 3-5 yrs. experience in project management, specifically in healthcare or Palliative Care settings

(required)

• Familiar with northern health issues, culture, and population to be served (required)

• Crisis management experience – develop and implement plans for managing

crises/emergencies that may arise withing the Palliative Care setting (required)

• Must be legally entitled to work in Canada (required)

• Must possess a valid Class 5 Driver’s Licence (required)

• Ability to speak Cree (preferred)

• Knowledge of Seven Sacred Teachings

• Microsoft Office – Word, Excel & Outlook
