About the Opportunity
The District of Lake Country has an exciting opportunity for a full-time (40 hours per week)Parks & Facilities Maintenance Operator based in Lake Country, BC. This is a Term position for approximately 8 months.
Reporting to the Parks and Facilities Manager you will be responsible for operating equipment, maintaining, and repairing District buildings and grounds, including parks maintenance such as garbage collection, washroom maintenance, weeding, equipment operation and other landscaping tasks. They will have responsibility for providing a safe, clean, and quality environment for the recreational use and leisure enjoyment of the public.
Your responsibilities include, but are not limited:
- improvements to the facility and grounds;
- parks maintenance such as garbage collection, washroom maintenance;
- weeding, equipment operation and other landscaping tasks as required
More About You
To qualify for this role, you must have a minimum of one years’ work experience in facilities and completed grade 12.
As our ideal candidate, you have skills in performing basic grounds maintenance, are self-motivated and have a strong ability to communicate with the public. Above all, we value a collaborative attitude, fostering positive working relationships with staff and tactfully conveying information and policies to the public.
Note: Due to the seasonal nature of this term position, maintenance of the ice arena and holding a Refrigeration Safety Awareness (RSA) course or higher designation in the field of ice facility operation will not be required.
