Part Time Bakery Assistant

Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Bakery Assistant to join our team. As a Bakery Assistant, you will play a crucial role in assisting with the daily operations of our bakery. Additional hours may be provided based upon bakery operations needs and production schedule.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare doughs and fillings, cookies, icings and sweet goods according to recipes or special customer orders
• Some baking may be required
• Strong attention to accuracy and quality of ingredient preparations and products to meet established standards
• Excellent time management skills to prioritize tasks effectively
• Collaborate with other team members to ensure smooth workflow and efficient operations
• Safely operate machinery such as mixers, dough sheeter and printers.
• Adhere to food safety and sanitation regulations at all times
• Flood icing of cookies
• Strong attention to accuracy while packaging and preparing orders for shipment, including package preparation as needed.
• Ability to assist retail customers as needed including Point of Sale and cash handling, making basic coffees and drinks
• Organize and maintain inventory, load ingredient and products in and out of bakery as needed
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the bakery
• Other related duties as needed to support the bakery

Requirements

• 1 year or more related experience in a food service professional setting (preferred)
• Point of Sale and cash handling experience (preferred)
• Maintain attention to detail and dedication to quality assurance in daily activities
• Maintain clear communications with bakery staff and with customers both orally and written form
• Accurately follow recipes and instructions
• Maintain and establish good rapport with bakery staff
• Maintain ability to lift 25 Kg without assistance
• Maintain hand-eye co-ordination and manual dexterity in work
• Maintain ability to perform some repetitive tasks
• Ability to work in a steady to fast paced work environment
• Ability to stand for extended periods of time
• Maintain a valid BC Food Safe Certification or equivalent.
• Flexibility to work early mornings, evenings, weekends as needed

Job Type: Part-time

Salary: $19.00-$21.00 per hour

Expected hours: 12 – 18 per week
