SUMMARY OF JOB FUNCTION:
The Part Time Packer is responsible for packaging plastic containers for our pharmaceutical, cosmetic, food and industrial customers according to established methods. The Packer is also called upon to perform a variety of tasks related to the proper functioning of production and will also be required to follow Good Manufacturing Practices

NOTE: This Part Time position may lead to full time. We are looking for candidates who can work Monday to Friday with potential occasional Saturday based on the plant needs.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

This Part TimeDay Shift job description has been prepared as a guide to ensure better communication and understanding. All responsibilities however have not been included, nor could they be. Your supervisor may from time to time ask you to perform other related duties not specifically included in this description. Likewise, this description will be revised when required to meet current business needs.

  • Ensure compliance with corporate and plant safety standards, applicable laws and regulations issued by regulatory agencies.
  • Familiarize yourself with the production order and the packaging method according to customer requirements.
  • Inspect finished products to ensure it conforms to customer requirements.
  • Discard defective bottles and report poor quality issues to management.
  • Monitor operation of conveyor systems and clear bottle jams from lines.
  • Assemble boxes and cartons and may hand-pack materials as require.
  • Pack containers according to established method.
  • Sweep and keep your workstation clean at all times.
  • Respect all quality control procedures and other company policies.
  • Perform any other task requested by Management.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS:

  • Post Secondary Education with 2 to 3 years experience in a manufacturing industry preferred.
  • Good communication skills both verbal and written.
  • Good Vision; Meticulous; Good attendance; Proficient with Information Technology.
  • Must be able to work-days, afternoon, nights and/or Saturday from time to time.
  • Will be standing, walking, bending and lifting up to 25 lbs for the duration of their shift.
  • Ability to work in a team environment, as well as autonomously, as required.
  • Coachable; Professional; Approachable; Quick learner; and Self-motivated.
  • Demonstrates good and safe work habits and have a clean working environment.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts in a production environment. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud. Temperatures inside the plant can fluctuate between hot and cold according to seasonal changes. Personal protective equipment (PPE) is required in the production department and other designated areas.
