Located in Barrie and reporting to the Associate Dean, Business and Management and Automotive Business, the incumbent develops and delivers courses in the Business Administration- Accounting and Business -Accounting programs. Courses may be scheduled and delivered during the day or evening and will be delivered in person. Specific duties include, but are not limited to:
- Delivers courses in the Accounting programs
o ACCT 3003 Intermediate Accounting 3
o ACCT 2000 Cost Accounting 2 - Develops and delivers appropriate curriculum to meet course objectives
- Incorporates a variety of teaching / learning strategies to meet student needs
- Evaluates student progress / achievement
- Participates in program and college activities as required
- Participates in program revisions and renewal activities as required
- Creates and maintains a positive learning environment
- CPA designation required
- Successfully completed a Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related discipline
- Experience in an accounting firm or government agency or industry with expertise in preparing and interpreting a wide variety of accounting reporting both personal, small business and corporate.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Commitment to life-long learning
- Computer literacy: MS Office, accounting related software and a high comfort level with learning new software such as student learning management systems and various teaching delivery applications
- Proven ability to work in a team environment and to foster the same in students
- Experience in some or all of the following is an asset: curriculum development, a variety of delivery strategies, adult learning methodologies, academic advising, and student success strategies
- Teaching and Training Adults certification and / or experience in a teaching or training capacity is an asset
