Located in Barrie and reporting to the Associate Dean, Business and Management and Automotive Business, the incumbent develops and delivers courses in the Business Administration- Accounting and Business -Accounting programs. Courses may be scheduled and delivered during the day or evening and will be delivered in person. Specific duties include, but are not limited to:

• Delivers courses in the Accounting programs
  o ACCT 3003 Intermediate Accounting 3
  o ACCT 2000 Cost Accounting 2
• Develops and delivers appropriate curriculum to meet course objectives
• Incorporates a variety of teaching / learning strategies to meet student needs
• Evaluates student progress / achievement
• Participates in program and college activities as required
• Participates in program revisions and renewal activities as required
• Creates and maintains a positive learning environment

Qualifications:

• CPA designation required
• Successfully completed a Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related discipline
• Experience in an accounting firm or government agency or industry with expertise in preparing and interpreting a wide variety of accounting reporting both personal, small business and corporate.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Commitment to life-long learning
• Computer literacy: MS Office, accounting related software and a high comfort level with learning new software such as student learning management systems and various teaching delivery applications
• Proven ability to work in a team environment and to foster the same in students
• Experience in some or all of the following is an asset: curriculum development, a variety of delivery strategies, adult learning methodologies, academic advising, and student success strategies
• Teaching and Training Adults certification and / or experience in a teaching or training capacity is an asset

Acceptable proof of education (degree, credentials) from recognized post secondary institutions or confirmation of international equivalencies will be required as part of selection process
