Overview
Commercial Truck Equipment is looking to add an experienced Parts Manager to our Winnipeg, MB branch. Reporting to the Branch Manager, and working closely with the service team, the Parts Manager will be responsible for all warehousing and parts purchasing functions at the branch, including supervising an imminent significant warehouse expansion and parts team expansion.
The successful candidate will be responsible for monitoring and improving warehousing, inventory, and purchasing procedures, as well as logistical planning, documentation, internal customer service, and other projects/tasks related to warehouse management. Importantly, the new Parts Manager will be at the forefront of managing a significant expansion of parts inventory, staff, and warehouse space as part of a branch expansion. The Parts Manager will also serve as the main point-of-contact to our vendors, negotiating effectively to ensure the right parts arrive on-time and on-budget.

Responsibilities and Duties
People Leadership
- Demonstrate clear and effective teambuilding and leadership
- Recruitment, selection, engagement, and retention of employees
- Motivate, counsel, and monitor performance of personnel and grow their skill sets as needed
Operational Leadership
- Ensure a timely turnaround for all parts needed for internal jobs
- Collaboration with Production, Project, and Engineering department leaders
- Manage day-to-day warehouse and yard operations, ensuring these areas are accurate, safe, and organized
- Develop, lead, and execute purchasing strategies
- Manage monthly cycle count procedures and lead the annual inventory audit
Safety Leadership
Lead, demonstrate, and champion a healthy and safe work environment and culture for all warehouse department employees
Qualifications and Experience
The successful applicant will have a mix of the following qualifications and experience. Commercial is looking for someone who has the experience to make a smooth transition into this position and hit the ground running.
- Proven leadership skills, with experience managing and leading teams
- Minimum 4 years warehouse/purchasing-related experience
- Formal training in inventory management is desirable
- Valid Class-5 driver's license is mandatory, licensure above Class 5 is considered an asset.
- CSA Standard B335-15 - Industrial Lift Truck Operator Training or equivalent is an asset, but not required
- Post-secondary education in logistics, warehouse, or transportation is an asset
- Knowledge of the truck or heavy equipment industry would be beneficial
- Strong computer skills including Office 365 and particularly Excel are required
