At SMS Equipment, our Parts & Service Manager, Chetwynd & Tumbler Ridgeis responsible for overseeing the operations of the parts and service department in the construction and forestry operations. The Parts & Service Manager, Chetwynd & Tumbler Ridgewill ensure the safety of team members and foster a customer-centric environment. This position is based in Chetwynd & Tumbler Ridge, BC.
This shift rotation is 5x2.
The salary range for this position is $110,000 - $120,000.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Accountable for leading the parts and service teams and coordinating activities related to parts and service.
- Establish clear objectives for the service team and monitor team performance and progress including the usage of e-scheduler and WIP management based on pre-existing KPIs.
- Closely monitor and manage financial performance, including revenue growth, profitability, and budgeting.
- Support the implementation of parts and service strategies aimed at maintaining a high volume of profitable sales and a high level of customer satisfaction.
- Work closely with the Regional Sales Manager to ensure a comprehensive, company-wide approach to all customer interactions and company objectives.
- Respond to escalated customer service complaints and maintain strong customer relationships and improve customer satisfaction rates.
- Conduct regular safety meetings, and inspections, as per OHSE policies and champion a strong safety culture throughout the parts and service departments.
- Foster a collaborative and inclusive work environment, promoting effective communication and cross-departmental cooperation within the parts and service department.
- Stay updated on industry trends, technological advancements, and regulatory changes to drive continuous improvement and compliance within the heavy equipment dealership industry.
- Communicate changes effectively to team members, ensuring their understanding and providing support throughout the transition.
- Encourage adaptability and resilience within the team, promoting a positive and agile mindset in the fast-paced parts and service departments.
Qualifications:
The successful candidate will possess a minimum of 5 years proven management experience in Parts and/or Service within the heavy equipment industry. Additional requirements include:
- Knowledge and ability to enforce compliance with safety rules and regulations; to minimize industrial injuries and meet regulatory requirements.
- Strong knowledge of safety regulations, standards, and best practices specific to an industrial environment.
- Technical expertise in parts and service operations, inventory management, and heavy equipment maintenance.
- Ability to develop, plan, and implement short and long-range goals.
- Planning and organizational skills, including the ability to meet deadlines and complete projects.
- Knowledge of parts distribution and parts management and of mechanical trade repairs and maintenance.
- Ability to analyze and interpret financial data and prepare financial reports, statements and/or projections.
- Knowledge of budgeting cost estimating, and fiscal management principles and procedures.
- Effective interpersonal skills, including tact and diplomacy with a variety of individuals and groups.
- Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, with a wide variety of individuals and groups.
- Certification in Parts or Heavy Equipment Technician is an asset.
- Valid Class 5 drivers license.
