Job Description: Reporting to the Provincial Manager, Financial Services, the Payroll Administrator is responsible for processing payroll information including calculating earnings and deductions where needed and reconciliation of payroll and general accounts in a timely and accurate manner.
Required Qualifications
Diploma in Business Administration/Accounting
Grade 12
Payroll Compliance Practitioner (PCP)
Experience
Two (2) years previous experience working in a payroll or accounting environment.
Experience Working with Collective Bargaining Agreements is an asset.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Ability to effectively communicate factual information both orally and in writing.
Ability to perform all aspects of payroll and basic accounting functions.
Accuracy of fine motor movements for typing/data entry is required.
Competent in the use of computers and Microsoft applications
Good interpersonal skills and the ability to negotiate with staff and/or third parties where there is a need to resolve the conflict or situation
Human relations skills required to ensure compliance with collective agreements
Knowledge of and the ability to interpret labour standards and collective agreements in order to properly calculate payroll.
Knowledge of federal and provincial payroll regulations, deductions and benefits.
Moderate Judgment and problem solving skills are required to select the most appropriate action from a variety of alternatives.
If no such applicant found, then an applicant with a Diploma in Business Administration/Accounting may be considered on the condition they obtain the PCP designation within one (1) year of commencing the
