PEOPLE AND CULTURE ASSISTANT
Middle Beach Lodge is looking for a People and Culture Assistant to assist our Leadership Team! As the People and Culture Assistant you will cultivate a healthy, safe, and enjoyable environment and company culture at Middle Beach Lodge.
The People and Culture Assistant will under direction of the Lodge Manager , the people and Culture Assistant completes administrative human resources functions and supports the overall morale of Middle Beach Lodge employees.
What You’ll Do:
· Post for positions and vet resumes as required by department managers.
· Explore recruitment avenues and share findings with department managers.
· Track new hires for all departments and coordinate their staff housing arrival dates with Resident Advisors.
· Maintain employee files, both hard and electronic copies, and tracking of disciplinary action, promotions, crossing training and internal transfers.
· Schedule employee reviews and coordinate dates and times with department managers; ensure proper paperwork is completed and filed.
· Participate in JHSC meetings; take and post meeting minutes.
· Train employees on Occupational Health and Safety.
· Train newly promoted supervisors on the “Train the Trainer” program.
· Research and administer training and development programs (ex: WHIMIS, soft skills training, etc.)
· Track certifications and schedule expiration reminders (First Aid, FoodSafe, Serving It Right, etc.)
· Monitor and maintain first aid kits.
· Lead fire and earthquake drills.
· Stay up to date on information relevant to the Employment Standards Act, WorkSafe B.C., and the B.C. Centre for Disease Control.
· Participate in housing inspections with the Lodge Manager and send housing updates to applicable employees.
· Facilitate and organize employee wellness incentives ie. Yoga.
· Assist in the organization and advertisement of Lodge Sports Teams.
· Organize and execute staff functions: Staff BBQ, Staff Lunches, Staff Camping trips etc.
· Complete any other duties as necessary.
About You:
· Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and ability to learn in-house software programs.
· Excellent communication skills (verbal, written, and listening) and able to communicate effectively with a diverse group of people.
· Discrete when handling sensitive and confidential information; professional manner in all interactions.
· Strong time management skills and ability to multitask and prioritize (planning and organization).
· Proactive approach and able to anticipate needs.
· Excellent attention to detail.
· Enjoys working in a fast-paced environment.
