- Develop and instill a site level safety culture through consistent engagement with employees and contractors with an objective of “zero” harm;
- Lead daily huddles to demonstrate commitment to workplace safety;
- Ensure front line employee compliance to all applicable local and regional health & safety policies and initiatives, including but not limited to hazard reporting, risk assessment, Working at Heights, Confined Space, Energy Isolation and Hot Work;
- Assist in the preparation for and participation in periodic health & safety site audits; a
- nd assist in the administration of the site Contractor Safety Management program, by completing site orientations, where required, and regularly auditing contractor performance to ensure compliance to applicable local and regional health & safety policies.
- Directly responsible for the individual development, motivation and training of all direct reports to maximize their performance;
- Responsible for the administration of disciplinary measures in a fair and consistent manner to address / correct substandard performance of all direct reports;
- Lead the site hiring process;
- Lead the administration and management of local collective and hourly working agreements amongst all direct reports;
- Promote, develop and drive customer focus, operational efficiency and performance management process within frontline teams;
- Determine manpower requirements and shift scheduling to meet production demands;
- Establish and manage weekly production and maintenance schedule;
- Manage and drive meeting daily production targets;
- Responsible for participating in the short and long-term planning and execution of maintenance activities;
- Involved in the daily implementation and compliance to the Maintenance Module, including but not limited to creating job plans, completing equipment inspection logs, and managing maintenance backlogs.
- Oversee the procurement of all subcontractors related to production and mobile equipment.
- Development and adherence to annual maintenance (repair) budgets;
- Participate in monthly EBIT reviews to ensure its accuracy and to identify cost reduction opportunities;
- Responsible to manage production and inventory forecasting to optimize yield and profitability;
- Support supply chain with balancing inventories and sales needs to manage and minimize the working capital impact.
- Coordinate with sales and dispatch personnel to ensure daily customer requirements are met;
- Management of stockpile inventories;
- Coordinate with Quality and shipping personnel to address quality issues related to production issues.
- Responsible for short-term planning and execution of activities in accordance with the Mining Plan;
- Ensures site level compliance to Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry (MNRF) requirements, including but not limited to site plans, rehabilitation and dust control.
- Work in conjunction with Plant Manager.
- Assist in the development, implementation and maintenance of the site Environmental Management System (EMS);
- Assists with site water management.
- Assist in preparation for and participate in environmental site audits;
- and ensure all direct reports comply with operational standards developed to manage activities and mitigate our environmental impact.
- Act as a secondary contact with relevant stakeholders in the local community, including neighbours, competitors and government officials.
- Works Closely with the Plant Manager to ensure consistency and alignment of operational priorities across the Market Area
- Works closely with the ECAN Manufacturing Group to ensure manufacturing best practices and tools are fully utilized across the market area
- Works closely with the Safety Group to develop and maintain a culture of safety
- Works closely with the Land and Environmental Manager to ensure all government and Lafarge Guidelines are met or exceeded
- Works closely with Operations Analyst and Operations Coordinator to ensure costs are budgeted, forecasted and accurate
- Works closely with local Quality control to ensure product meets required targets
- Safety leadership and continued development of Safety Culture
- Meeting annual financial and production targets
- Responsible for the Health and Safety Improvement Plan
- Effective leadership and engagement of all personnel at the site
- Optimization of operational cost and achievement of annual objectives
- Develop and continually improve effective Stakeholder/Community relations
- Ensure total site compliance with all safety and environmental legislation, regulations and company policies

- An undergraduate degree in business, engineering, or equivalent experience
- A minimum of 5 years relevant experience, not necessarily in the aggregates of construction industry.
- Strong problem solving and analytical skills.
