The Bruce Site Office is the designated work location and is approximately 10 km outside of Tiverton, Ontario.
The results of this process will be used to staff future positions with similar qualifications and various tenures including term, acting, assignment and indeterminate.

What You'll Do :

Reporting to the Power Reactor Site Office Supervisor (PRSOS), the Power Reactor Site Inspector works primarily at the nuclear site to provide regulatory oversight and conduct inspections on the operation and state of the Bruce Nuclear Power Generating Station and to ensure that the facility and its operators are in compliance with the Nuclear Safety and Control Act, Regulations, License and License Condition Handbook.
As a Power Reactor Site Inspector, you will:
  • Assist with planning, preparing, organizing and participating in or conducting compliance activities.
  • Assist with monitoring licensee performance.
  • Provide support to senior staff in the preparation and analysis of information for the Commission.

Essential Qualifications:

Education:
  • Graduation with a degree from a recognized university with specialization in Science or Engineering or an equivalent combination of relevant education and experience.

Experience:
  • Providing support to audits or inspections including planning, participating in the conduct of audits or inspections.
  • Working at a nuclear power plant (inspection, operations, maintenance, or engineering).
  • Application of safety, technical or quality assurance principles.
  • Drafting technical reports (e.g. inspection reports).

Knowledge of:
  • Plant design, analysis, operations and maintenance of a CANDU reactor.
  • Application of risk information to determine safety significance of compliance oversight findings.
  • Inspection practices and procedures .
  • CNSC’s Safety and Control Areas framework

Asset Qualification:

  • Experience as an inspector in a regulatory organization.
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements applicable to Nuclear Power Plants (NPP).
  • Knowledge of International Atomic Energy Association (IAEA) safety principles.

Operational Needs:

  • All CNSC staff are subject to the Mobility Directive.
  • This position requires occasional travel.
  • Overtime: Some overtime may be required.
