- COTS HW including L1 accelerators where needed
- Cloud-Native infrastructure based on ADP framework for SW based on micro-services and containers
- Open interfaces (e.g F1, X2/Xn, A1, 01, LLS…)
- Architecture for automation, AI and machine learning
- Band support: Sub-6 & Mid-Band AAS to start with, High-Band in the future
- Radio support: Potentially all Ericsson NR capable radios with the use of eCPRI or CPRI converter
It is the task of the Principal Developer to secure and drive Integration Anatomy strategies and solutions that allow Integration of the Cloud RAN vDU Software components in order to efficiently support multiple deployment scenarios, in a variety of Cloud Native environments.
The position holder has the responsibility to:
Drive implementation:
- Drive the definition and evolution of the Cloud RAN vDU Software Integration Anatomy.
- Guide Cloud RAN vDU software functionality and interfaces definition aiming to yield optimum Integration efficiency for Ericsson's Cloud RAN product deployed with various CaaS providers. Consider the need to deploy in both Distributed and Centralized RAN configurations.
- Actively contribute to the implementation of Software Integration techniques, especially functionalities that impact or are impacted by the architecture of the software.
- Collaborate with AppSS and ADP to improve PaaS for vDU unique integration and deployment needs.
- Drive the implementation of necessary test environments to validate and characterize the Cloud RAN Radio vDU software during the Integration phase, e.g resilience to component restarts and inter-component I/F impediments.
- Drive forums and studies required to ensure that the vision for Cloud RAN vDU Integration Anatomy evolves and improves. These discussions should involve required external parties that can contribute to the vision (System & Technologies, Gen5, System Engineers…)
- Initiate pre-development, proof of concept/products and gather data on possible single SW track, serving multiple solutions
- Maintain a network and coordinate with other technical leaders in, and adjacent to, the area.
- Gather feedback, listen to other opinions with a positive attitude and influence to build the best-in-class Cloud Native vDU software solutions.
- Drive innovation within domain area and convert new ideas and innovations into IPR assets, when applicable.
- Act as coach and mentor, and actively share knowledge within Ericsson.
- Anticipate the future requirements that will be imposed internally and by the industry on the Cloud software architecture.
- Define the roadmap and evolution of the Integration Anatomy used by the Cloud RAN vDU software.
- Decide on the evolution of the Cloud RAN vDU software integration techniques.
- Decide on matters related to the implementation that affect the integration of the functionalities related to the Cloud RAN vDU software.
- Experience with driving multi-functional teams, delivering incremental content
- Experience with 5G functions, developing through the Cloud Native Development Pipeline principles and tools (CI/CD (DevOps), Jenkins, Spinnaker)
- Having shown an innovative demeanour
- Excellent Communication and Presentation skills
- A collaborative and outstanding teammate attitude
- 8-10 years work in Wireless product development
- 4-5 years of work experience as a Lead Integrator, Project Manager or OPO
- BSc or MSc level in an SW related field
