Reporting to the Manager, Business Excellence this position contributes to setting the strategy, priorities and direction of corporate Procurement Planning and Contract Management and is focused on creating the conditions for success. You are accountable for aligning and managing the human, social, technical, and operational systems required to carry out the work of the team as required. Primary duties include:
  • Lead procurement strategy by providing expert advice and ensure successful execution including procurement planning and contract management strategy development, market investigation and an assessment of risk.
  • Develop procurement work plans and initiatives and participate in the development of cross-functional Supply Management strategic planning.
  • Provide direction and expertise as well as technical and professional advice to staff engaged in procurement planning and development, negotiation, evaluation, and contract dispute resolution.
  • Manage, build and foster relationships between Supply Management and business units, customers, suppliers, external stakeholders, other public bodies and enabling services.
  • Supervise staff and review completed outcomes to ensure objectives and customer expectations are met.
  • Ensure compliance with trade agreements, public procurement law, and procurement policy and practice.
 
Qualifications 
  • A Supply Chain Management professional (SCMP) designation; OR a degree in Business, Finance, Law or a related field.
  • At least 8 years of progressively more responsible and varied procurement or contract experience and at least 2 years of leadership experience; OR 10 years of progressively more responsible and varied procurement or contract experience.
  • Equivalent combinations of experience and education may be considered.
  • Previous experience in purchasing for a major corporation or public-sector organization and an extensive understanding in the development of Request for Tender and RFP documents.
  • Proven and effective leadership skills and integrity accompanied by an ability to develop and maintain a high level of customer relations.
  • Experience managing, planning, and implementing projects.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation and organizational skills and are adaptable to an environment of ongoing change with the ability to act in the role of change agent.

Compensation: Level F $94,168 - 144,228 per annum
Days of Work: This position works a 5 day
work week earning 1 day off in a 3 week cycle.
Hours of work: Standard 35 hour work week
