What is the Opportunity?

An exciting opportunity to work within the London Product Control team to provide financial reporting and support for the Capital Markets businesses in RBC EG (Frankfurt) legal entity across sales, trading, and corporate & investment banking businesses.

As a relatively new business region, the successful candidate will have the opportunity to grow by developing new processes and controls that enables Product Control to enhance local oversight and be a valued added partner.

In addition, there will be scope to provide backup reporting support for London Global Market businesses.

What will you do?

  • Act as the Product Control lead for all queries related to our RBC EG (Frankfurt) legal entity. Stakeholders will include our Financial Control team and external auditors in Germany, alongside any other internal stakeholders in London and Germany. 

  • Provide entity level monthly analytics required for the RBC EG Global Markets Operating Committee.

  • Conduct additional reporting to comply with Local German GAAP notably around Transfer Pricing.

  • Act as a point of contact for Front Office queries and issues and effectively monitor, track, and complete tasks in a timely fashion.

  • Prepare daily P&L and Balance Sheet reconciliations to ensure figures are properly tied back to the systems of records.

  • Assist in the preparation of daily P&L and decomposition with associated commentary.

  • Calculate, liaise and report, assist in booking and settle inter group commissions.

  • Prepare monthly reconciliations and standards of documentation to assist in attestation of balances and review by Financial Control.

  • Support the team in preparing all monthly accounting entries to the sub and general ledger and conduct reconciliations to ensure figures are properly tied back to the systems of record with the requirement of extra due diligence dictated by the entities low level of materiality.

  • Collaborate and provide support to our partners across Finance, locally and globally.

  • This role will have responsibilities across business / product lines including bond, equity and derivative trading as well as Corporate and Investment Banking.

  • Provide backup reporting cover to London Global Market businesses.

What do you need to succeed?

Must have:

  • Undergraduate degree or similar/equivalent

  • Qualified Accountant, ACA, ACCA, CIMA

  • First rate communication skills, the ability to communicate effectively with both our stakeholders and within our global team

  • Able to build excellent working relationships with our key stakeholders, such that we are able to build on that relationship to identify collaborative opportunities.

  • Understanding of Capital Markets, One year or more Product control experience.

Nice to have:

  • CFA Candidates or Charter Holders.
