Production Artist

CALHOUN is a full service global sourcing and apparel manufacturing company that has been operating in the Niagara Region for over 40 years. Calhoun is a supplier of licensed product to the North American market, filling a niche for current prints and unique products. We are presently seeking a highly motivated, creative, Production Artist to work in a commercial environment. The successful candidate will develop, prepare and produce graphic art to meet our customer’s design needs and quality expectations. You will need to possess the creative flare and artistic skills while balancing the technical aspects of working in a production setting.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Work with existing art from clients to ensure it is of the appropriate quality and format for production
• Prepares artwork for print production
• Work collaboratively with Sales and Production departments to ensure the end product meets or exceeds customer expectations of quality, creativity and timeliness.
• Creates original designs that are brand, customer and product appropriate

KEY COMPETENCIES:

• Advanced knowledge of Illustrator and Photoshop is required. Working knowledge of Excel, In Design and CAD software is an asset.
• Ability to work within tight deadlines without compromising quality
• Attention to Detail: desire and ability to get it right the first time
• Work as a team player, solicit feedback and value input from others
• Strong Communication and Interpersonal skills, ability to build and maintain positive communication channels and work collaboratively with different areas of the organization.
• Strong creativity and the ability to understand and exceed customer expectations and specifications
• Highly motivated with the ability to take a project from conception to completion. Ability and desire to follow-up and follow-through to ensure quality standards and deadlines are met.
• 2 years related Graphic Design experience, complimented by a post-secondary education in marketing, graphic design or a related field.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
