Production Artist

*PLEASE NOTE: This is NOT a photography-based position*

*The ideal candidate will have photo-manipulation pieces in their portfolio*

Responsibilities:

• Create high-quality digital artwork using a variety of techniques in Adobe Photoshop.
• Technical Requirements:
• Strong sense of art & design: colour, composition etc.
• Extensive knowledge of Photoshop. Working experience with Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel).
• Advanced knowledge of photo editing and manipulation techniques.
• Thorough understanding of adjustment layers, effects, techniques, blending modes, etc. in Photoshop.
• Ability to translate traditional and digital arts terminology. Communicating with experts in Fine Art and experts in Photoshop.
• Capacity to create photorealistic effects using Photoshop (eg. texture, weathering, recolouring, compositing)
• Ability to mentally dissect an existing image and understand of how to reproduce the appearance.
• Excellent file management and organization with a non-destructive workflow.
• Experienced using a Wacom tablet.

Additional Qualifications:

• A background in traditional arts is very valuable, but not a requirement.
• Basic knowledge of pre-press processes and techniques, including crop marks, bleeds, sizing, etc.
• Experience/interest in Fine Arts.
• Experience/interest in the interior design industry.
• Experience with basic photography and lighting practices.

Required Education:

• Completion of high school.
• Completion of college and/or university with a focus on art/design is an asset.
