Part Time Production Assistant

Hours:

• 10 - 20 hours per week, this is subject to change based on seasonality of the business
• 5 hour shifts during weekdays - days are flexible
• Ideal start time is between 7:30 - 8:30am but can accommodate alternate start times
• No weekends or evenings at this time. In our peak season of August through January, there may be opportunity to work weekends

Work Environment

We are a team of (fairly) introverted women, making really cool things that smell amazing! A typical day in the soap studio will look like coming in in the morning, wearing sweat pants, crew neck and sneakers. Check on your production list of things to do for the day and get to work. You'll often find us listening to our favourite playlist (probably singing along) or headphones in and working on the task at hand. It's easy, it's flexible, and we work hard and make sure each and every one of our products looks amazing before it leaves the soap studio!

Position

SOAK Bath Co is excited to announce an opening for a Production Assistant at the soap factory! As a Production Assistant you will be responsible for supporting various general production tasks with a focus on efficiency and quality. You will work closely with our full time soap maker and shipping team to ensure products needed for shipping are ready to go! Here are some of the tasks you'd be doing in this role:

• Handle supporting parts of the soap making process like taking soap loaves out of their molds and slicing soap bars
• Labelling Soap Bars, Bath Bombs and other products in the SOAK Bath Co line
• Fill bottles of essential oils, botanicals, powders so they are ready for bath bomb and soap making
• Make sugar scrubs, bath salts and bath melts
• Wash dishes - this includes washing dishes by hand and with commercial dishwasher
• Work alongside our current production team to assist in ensuring we hit production goals and inventory targets
• Depending on interest + performance, you would have the opportunity to take on roles within shipping
• Depending on interest + performance, you would have the opportunity to learn the soap making process

Position Requirements

• Must be 16+ and have reliable transportation to work. This is an in person position only, must be able to get to 290 Main Street in Niverville, Manitoba for your agreed-upon shifts
• This position requires physical strength, you must have the ability to lift up to 50 pound boxes of ingredients/orders/product - ingredients are heavy!
• Ability to work in a heavily scented facility. Our products are made with all natural ingredients, scented + unscented, there is a high concentration of scent in our workshop
• High attention to detail - our product is a reflection of our brand and we want to ensure our product looks, smells and feels great to each + every one of our shoppers!
• Comfortable working in an ever changing environment, as a small business we experience fluctuations in busy/slower times so hours may fluctuate
• Physical stamina and ability to stand for extended periods of time
• Ability and willingness to learn new tasks
• Ability to work quickly + efficiently while maintaining quality standards
