About this Opportunity
BMG has an exciting opportunity at our Chester location (GN Thermoforming Equipment) for a Production Support Labourerwho will primarily be responsible to provide cross-functional labourer support to Operations, or other Departments in the company as required.
KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provides labourer assistance on various tasks and assignments in any department of the plant as directed. Tasks may include, but are not limited to: Shipping & Receiving, Stockroom/Warehouse activities, prepping of parts, drilling with hand tools, operating radial arm and drill press, bench work, basic maintenance activities, housekeeping, cutting material, sub-assemblies, building crates,
- Operates basic hand and power tools.
- Operates a forklift, pallet jacks, lifting devices and other manual handling equipment for movement of goods.
- Provides flexible team oriented support to other departments as required.
OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Follow all applicable safety procedures and policies as outlined in the Employee Handbook.
- Maintain good housekeeping in work areas.
EDUCATION/QUALIFICATIONS:
- A minimum of a high school diploma or GED.
- Six months of related experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred.
- Strong mechanical aptitude with attention to detail.
- Able to operate a lift truck.
- Able to operate overhead crane.
- Must have a valid driver’s license.
- Basic computer skills required.
- Working knowledge of ERP System is preferred
ENVIRONMENT/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Lift, push, and pull up 35 to 50 lbs. occasionally.
- Frequent bending, reaching, and lifting.
- Walk for extended periods of time.
- May work in seated or standing positions for prolonged periods of time, perform sustained manual activities at low to moderate levels of exertion.
- Must be able to access and navigate within each department at the organization’s facilities (i.e. climb stairs, ladders, etc.)
- Must be able to wear a respirator as required
