Job Title: Program Supervisor

Organization: Golden Bear Children's Centre

Overview:

Golden Bear Children's Centre is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Program Supervisor to join our dedicated team. As a Program Supervisor, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing and enhancing the quality of our early childhood education programs. The ideal candidate should possess strong leadership skills, a passion for working with children, and the ability to create a nurturing and engaging learning environment.

Responsibilities:

1. Program Management:

  • Develop and implement age-appropriate, play-based curriculum that aligns with the centre's educational philosophy and standards.
  • Ensure compliance with licensing regulations, safety protocols, and educational guidelines.
  • Supervise and support a team of teachers and assistants, providing guidance and professional development opportunities.
  • Collaborate with staff to create a positive and inclusive atmosphere for children, families, and staff members.

2. Staff Development and Training:

  • Conduct regular staff meetings and training sessions to enhance the skills and knowledge of the teaching team.
  • Foster a collaborative and supportive work environment, promoting teamwork and open communication.
  • Evaluate staff performance and provide constructive feedback, recognizing achievements and addressing areas for improvement.

3. Parent Communication:

  • Establish and maintain effective communication channels with parents, keeping them informed about their child's progress, activities, and any relevant centre updates.
  • Organize events to encourage parent involvement and engagement in their child's early education.

4. Administrative Duties:

  • Oversee daily operations, including scheduling, attendance tracking, and record-keeping.
  • Collaborate with the management team to develop and manage budgets, ensuring effective resource allocation.
  • Assist in the enrollment process, conducting tours for prospective families and facilitating the registration process.
  • Meet with the Centre Director once a week to discuss growth and improvement of the program.

5. Continuous Improvement:

  • Stay current on early childhood education trends, research, and best practices, integrating new ideas and methodologies into the program.
  • Regularly assess and evaluate program effectiveness, making recommendations for improvements and adjustments as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Early Childhood Education Diploma
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a supervisory role or as a primary educator within an early childhood education setting.
  • Strong understanding of child development principles and early childhood education curriculum.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Knowledge of licensing regulations and commitment to maintaining a safe and supportive learning environment.
