Job description

Function:

The Programming & Camp Attendant is responsible for providing friendly service and assistance to guests participating in the summer programs and activities at the resort. The Programming Attendant is required to coach, assist, and lead guests of different ages and levels through various activities for our summer season, with a focus on summer camps, while demonstrating proper, safety focused instruction, and an amazing guest experience.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Provide individuals and groups of all ages with assistance throughout their entire experience by greeting guests, providing direction and education, providing physical assistance in various activities and programs, giving encouragement, and providing general guidance as needed.
  • Assist, teach, and demonstrate the proper guidance of all activities and any equipment needed.
  • Supervise children and ensure their safety, development, growth, skill achievement, and general well-being.
  • Facilitate and create lesson plans for daily, weekend, and weekly camps and activities.
  • Provide positive, creative, and innovative instructional activities for all participants.
  • Organize, facilitate, and lead various small and large group activities.
  • Ensure the accurate completion of rental/waiver forms.
  • Continually improve safety, service, and job satisfaction and ensure the ultimate safety of guests and staff.
  • Perform pre-use and monthly equipment inspections.
  • Adhere to all manufacturer provided procedure and maintenance guidelines and assist with maintenance when needed.
  • Perform daily housekeeping of the grounds, chalet, parking lot, etc.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of all work areas and spaces.
  • Notify Supervisor of any unsafe conditions, unusual occurrences or irregularities that occur during daily operation, or if work areas need tools, equipment, or any special attention.
  • Be aware of promotional and special events, school bookings, and corporate/group functions to help direct guests and staff.
  • Inspect equipment for damages as it is returned, and report to supervisor.
  • May be cross trained as an Adventure Park Attendant.
  • Perform other related duties within the scope of the position as required.

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience working with children and youth.
  • Experience working in instructional group programming and camp settings will be considered an asset.
  • Demonstrate an outgoing, friendly personality and show a commitment to exceeding guest expectations.
  • Ability to reason and react with quick and thoughtful judgment, in a safe and respectful manner.
  • Ability to work with small and large groups, of all ages.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Mature, energetic, dependable, and self-motivated.
  • Maintain a personable and positive attitude.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision or in a team environment.
  • Obtain vulnerable sector check.
  • First Aid will be considered an asset.
  • Climbing or guide experience is considered an asset.
  • Must have a flexible schedule with the availability to work weekends, evenings, and holidays.
  • Class 5 license will be considered an asset.

  • May work at heights.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to stand for long periods of time.
  • May lift, carry, push, or pull items weighing up to 50 pounds.
