Role description:

Due to consistent growth in our team and the demands of our strong and growing pipeline of work across highways and bridges, we are searching for a Drainage Discipline Lead to lead large drainage and flooding teams on major Highways, Rail and Metro infrastructure projects.

Role accountabilities:

  • Lead a team to deliver drainage designs on major infrastructure projects
  • Lead the hydraulic and hydrology analysis for major infrastructure projects
  • Provide technical design expertise for drainage and water quality systems, including piped networks and major transverse drainage structures
  • Coordinate and verify designs with project teams working across multiple offices including our international design hubs
  • Represent Arcadis in client meetings as part of the discipline lead role
  • Embracing a strong digital work environment and delivery culture
  • Working in collaboration with the design manager and other design disciplines to ensure the integrity of the overall design
  • Deliver sustainable design solutions and drive continuous improvement in the sustainability of our solutions

Qualifications & Experience:

First and foremost, you share our passion for improving the quality of life. You pride yourself for the part you play in transforming the world around you and understand the importance of teamwork. You are a technically capable civil or environmental engineer with extensive experience in drainage design for civil infrastructure projects. You will come to us with:

  • Experience in several facets of the project lifecycle from concept design through to detailed design and construction
  • Demonstrated self-management; the ability to work autonomously and take ownership of outcomes
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Proven leadership and management skills
  • Experience working on projects with Transport for NSW or similar interstate authorities like TMR and VicRoads
  • Proven skills with drainage software such as 12D and DRAINS
  • The desire to work collaboratively in a high performing team environment
  • Hydrology and hydraulic modelling experience using Tuflow will be highly regarded
