General Description
AVERTEX Utility Solutions Inc is seeking a detail-oriented, well-organized, Project Manager to work within the Orangeville operations group. The Project Manager is responsible for the overall health and well-being of the project. He/she may have a single project or multiple smaller projects under their control at any time and they will be the primary point of contact for the company, client and public.
Location
Orangeville, Ontario – applicants are expected to work in and out of the Orangeville office. Some out of town may be required at times.
Report to / Interact with
Operations Manager while working with the operations team and at times various other personnel within the company.
Job Responsibilities
Some of the various expectations and responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
- ensure that work is completed in accordance with the corporate H&S Program and government regulations;
- control the safety, quality, and cost of construction projects;
- plan and coordinate all aspects of the construction process & communicate those goals clearly to site personal;
- assess and implement resource (manpower & equipment) loading requirements for projects under his/her control and relay requirements to the Operations Manager as required;
- resolve problems that arise (i.e. inclement weather, emergencies or other issues that may cause delays) to limit their effect on the project schedule and budget;
- secure larger subcontractors and larger materials orders;
- assist with the negotiate of contracts with subcontractors and other workers;
- invoicing of their projects;
- working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs and general computer skills;
- assist, coach and mentor Foreman and at times Project Supervisors,
- work with clients, engineers, subcontractors and material vendors to maximize efficiencies

Job Skills / Qualifications
- 5 + years of project management experience in the underground utility industry, general construction or similar would be an asset
- proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite including Excel and Word
- strong project management, analytical and organizational skills
- strong construction background, ability to effectively manage and meet deadlines
- effective verbal communicator
- valid Canadian driver’s license
