Job description

We are looking for a Project/Office Assistant to join our dynamic team and work closely with our General Manager to ensure our project life cycles run smoothly. The ideal candidate will have strong organizational skills, excellent communication abilities, and a keen eye for detail, particularly when it comes to project organization and reading blueprints. This role offers the opportunity to play a key part in our company's growth and success.

Responsibilities:

  • Blueprint Reading: Accurately read and scale blueprints to assist in project estimation and planning.
  • Customer/Supplier Communication: Interact with customers, architects, builders, and suppliers to gather project details, answer inquiries, and provide information on our products and services.
  • Administrative Support: Assist with administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, maintaining customer records, and generating reports.
  • Project Coordination: Collaborate with the sales team to coordinate project timelines, deliveries, and installations.
  • Quotation Preparation: Prepare accurate and competitive quotations based on project specifications.
  • Inventory Management: Monitor and maintain inventory levels, ensuring that materials are readily available for projects.
  • Job/File Closing: Collaborate with sales staff, accounting dept, and client to ensure job files are closed in a timely manner.
  • Ad-hoc Tasks: Complete miscellaneous tasks as required to ensure smooth office and project flow.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or coursework in construction or related fields is a plus.

· Minimum 1 year of project/administrative experience preferred.

  • Previous experience reading blueprints, with the ability to accurately scale and interpret construction drawings.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills, with a high level of attention to detail.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Customer-focused attitude and a willingness to go the extra mile to ensure client satisfaction.
  • Previous experience in the construction industry is preferred but not required.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Salary: $20.00-$26.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
