About the Role:
Corus Radio Calgary COUNTRY 105 FM has an extremely rare and exciting opportunity for a Promotions Coordinator in Calgary. Reporting to the Regional Promotions Manager, the successful candidate would be responsible for planning, executing, and maintaining station and sales promotions, managing the Street Team, representing the station at Promotions and live on-location broadcasts, interacting with clients and the general public, activation of on-site events, and creating fun, memorable experiences for our listeners. Our preferred candidate would be an extremely organized, energetic, and outgoing individual who enjoys working in the office and outdoors at events and festivals.
You will contribute by:
  • Executing all aspects of promotions for Country 105 FM, while offering support for QR Calgary when needed. Includes implementing promotions/contests, writing promotional announcements, curating social media content, informing talent of contest details, listener correspondence, and prize fulfillment.
  • Planning and executing station events and charitable/community partnerships.
  • Creating revenue opportunities through the regular and ongoing execution of station sales and marketing initiatives, including collaborating with the sales team, and building sales promotions proposals
  • Works closely with the Promotions Manager and Program Director on Promotions and marketing initiatives and campaigns.
  • Work with and engage community organizations and business partners to develop effective partnerships.
  • Street team coordination, training and scheduling, on-site appearances, and coordination of events/concerts, and set-up of promotional activations or remote broadcasts when required.
  • Monitor trends and adjustments in the market / industry to capitalize on promotional or marketing opportunities.
  • Maintain promotional inventory, station signage, equipment, supplies, vehicles, and related documentation.
  • Manage and execute social media strategy and calendar and content across social platforms with the guidance of the Promotions Manager and Social Strategists.
  • Staying on top of latest social trends to create content in a timely manner.
  • Respond in a timely manner to audiences when they have questions, inquiries, or comments on our content or brand.
  • Availability for weekend and evening activities as required.
Skills and experience you will bring:
  • Post-secondary education in broadcast radio, marketing, or a related field is an asset.
  • A minimum of two years’ experience in Radio promotions, or a related field.
  • A positive, outgoing attitude with a passion to win.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication and organizational skills with a keen eye for detail.
  • A self-motivated team player with a desire to succeed.
  • Social media savvy.
  • A creative thinker that is not afraid to share ideas.
  • Individual who likes to take initiative and build relationships.
  • The ability to work well under tight deadlines and juggle multiple tasks.
  • Strong computer skills - an above average understanding of Windows, PowerPoint, and Excel programs.
  • A valid ‘G’ class driver’s license with a clean drivers abstract.
