Full Time. Available Immediately. Salary Commensurate with Experience.
We are a private company with a portfolio of properties in Montreal, Quebec City and other locations now under consideration. We are seeking a Property Accountant who will be responsible for the full accounting cycle of the properties. In addition, the person will need to follow up certain administrative functions such as unpaid rents, contractor repairs, insurance renewals and property taxes.
KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Take control of all accounting functions including income, expenses, AR & AP, monthly and annual journal entries
- Prepare and remit GST & QST reports
- Track tenant lease obligations, including assisting with rent collections
- Review and ensure annual insurance renewals
- Ensure timely payment of municipal and school taxes
- Assist management with tenant service. Help with tenant requests/problems in a timely and courteous manner. Follow-up with the tenant to ensure satisfactory resolution of the issue.
- Assist with relevant tenant communications.
- Provide the owners with all required operating information for each property including profitability and projections
KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS
- Ability to effectively communicate both orally and in writing (French and English)
- Strong working knowledge of MS Office
- Experience in a fast-paced, agile, collaborative work environment
- Organized, detail-oriented, with the ability to drive efficiencies
- Work Experience: Minimum of 2 years
- Driver’s license required. Available auto would be helpful but is not mandatory
Job Type: Full-time
Salary: $60,000.00-$75,000.00 per year
