Property Maintenance Technician

DROP Investments is a local Kootenay's based company with a passion for improving the properties in our community. We are looking for a skilled and experienced Property Maintenance Technician to join our team to help us ensure our properties are well-maintained and provide a positive tenant experience. As a Property Maintenance Technician with DROP Investments, you will be responsible for performing general maintenance tasks, preventative maintenance, improvement projects, and inspections across our portfolio of commercial and residential properties.

Core Responsibilities:

• Complete maintenance tasks and projects, traveling between multiple worksites each day.
• Ensure our properties are well maintained with general repairs, preventative maintenance, improvement projects & inspections
• Respond to issues regarding maintenance, including basic carpentry, plumbing, HVAC, electrical and technology trouble shooting and repairs.
• Coordinate with third-party service providers, including contractors on site assisting with general repairs, preventative maintenance, improvement projects & inspections, as needed.
• Establish and maintain open, collaborative relationships with colleagues, vendors, tenants and management.
• Collect and remove trash and debris including weekly janitorial requirements.
• Ensure follow through on assigned maintenance tasks using in-house assignment system and respond to time-sensitive maintenance needs.
• Landscape maintenance including gardens, lawns, general site cleanup and snow removal.
• Other responsibilities as assigned to ensure a positive tenant experience.

Requirements:

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in Property Maintenance, including basic knowledge of carpentry, plumbing, HVAC, electrical, and landscaping.
• Valid Class 5 BC driver's license and daily access to a reliable vehicle.
• Ability to regularly lift over 50 lbs; ability to work in and outdoors in all weather conditions, as needed.
• Ability to properly assess problems and provide solutions in a professional and timely manner.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule including weekends and holidays, as needed to support the needs of the position.
• A self-motivated individual who enjoys a variety of tasks and seeing them through to completion.
• A background in Construction, preferred.
