As a member of the health care team, performs duties related to patients’ personal, social, emotional, spiritual, and
recreational needs in accordance with established policies and procedures. To ensure the highest possible standards of
patient care, assisting the client towards recovery by providing a safe, comfortable, and therapeutic environment for
psychiatric in-patients.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Grade 12 education or equivalent
- Graduate of an approved Psychiatric Nursing Assistant Program/Health Care Aid Program (other combinations of
- Current certification from a recognized Healthcare Provider Basic Life Support (BLS), or obtain within three (3)
- Working knowledge of Windows based programs (Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook) and Internet
- Two (2) years’ recent experience related to Psychiatry in an acute care psychiatric facility or crisis unit
- Satisfactory employment record required
- Successful candidate subject to provide security checks in accordance with Security Checks for Employment
