We are seeking a Direct Support Worker that resonates with the above profile, as determined by the support needs of the individual. In addition to the above mentioned attributes, the successful candidate will ideally meet the following criteria
- Have previous experience supporting individuals that experience disability alongside mental illness
- Certification in MANDT, PART, ASIST, NVCI, etc. (or a willingness to obtain)
- Knowledge & understanding of supporting people who experience complex needs
- Open &/or Flexible availability
- Knowledge and understanding of Gentle Teaching and Person-Centered Planning
- Strong Interpersonal & Communication Skills
- A good understanding of FASD
- Working Knowledge on how / Ability to support someone who engages in Self-Harm
