PURPOSE OF THE JOB
The Purchase Order Specialist will be responsible for keeping accurate and up-to-date records of all purchasing activities for products purchased for retail stores. They are responsible for submitting, recording, tracking, closing, and reconciling all Purchase Orders and invoices.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Independently manage the relationship with internal teams and external suppliers to maintain accurate Purchase Order and invoicing records
- Track purchases from order creation to ensure on-time delivery of all products
- Resolve Purchase Order / invoicing discrepancies with vendors
- Provide ad-hoc reporting and analyses as requested and interprets data to meet the specific needs of stakeholders or functional groups within the Company
- Exercise discretion in managing company proprietary information
- Other duties as assigned by management
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED
- 2-3 years prior experience or related experience
- High School diploma, Secondary education would be an asset
- Ability to gather, analyze and organize complex data, draw conclusions, and present such data effectively orally and in writing
- Ability to prioritize, multi-task, meet or exceed deadlines and maintain flexibility in a fast-paced, service-oriented environment
- Exceptional planning and organizational skills with strong attention to detail and follow up
- Must have the drive to produce accurate results and a sense of accountability for assigned projects
- Must be able to learn new software applications
- Proficiency in MS Office: Outlook, Word, Excel; including filters, pivot tables, V look-ups, and IF statements are considered an advantage
