Job description

Based at Fort Hills plant site, the QC Site Lead will report operationally to the Quality Manager. The Quality Inspector will be responsible for ensuring the execution of required processes, goals, and objectives established by the Quality Department at the field level.

Key Responsibility Areas:

  • Clarify all QA/QC requirements to operations staff to ensure success and compliance on all maintenance and project work
  • Overall supervision and management of the field operations
  • Ensures the quality standards and inspections at the maintenance and project sites are met and exceeded in accordance with codes, standards, company policy, and client specifications
  • Accountable for the management, planning, and coordination of all necessary quality testing, and inspection services including 3rd party services and ensuring the required documentation is maintained
  • Conduct quality testing and inspection as required
  • Monitors quality management testing procedures and test reports and ensures all summary reports are completed
  • Verifies that all testing equipment is properly maintained and in good working order
  • Initiates the non-conformance process when materials or products do not meet the required specifications and handles such non-conformities
  • Initiates corrective action on non-conformities within the timeframe as defined in the Contract Documents
  • Works directly with subcontractors and material suppliers to ensure that submittals are complete
  • Ensures all permanent materials are supplied in accordance with quality specifications
  • Prepare and conduct internal audit schedules for review by Quality Control Manager
  • Executes all necessary changes or revisions to the Quality Management Plan Qualifications:
  • CSA W 178.2 Level II
  • ASME B31.3 and/or CSA W47/59
  • Experience in General Quality Control in an Plant or Pipeline setting is required
  • Related diploma from an accredited technical school/college, or a Journeyman Certification in a Mechanical Trade an asset.

Salary: From $80.00 per hour
